Call for “Individual Projects” 2022-23 – Labex ECODEC

Members of the LabEx ECODEC are invited to submit research individual projects in one of the following subjects:

– Area 1: Secure Careers in a Global Economy
– Area 2: Financial Market Failures and Regulation
– Area 3: Product Market Regulation and Consumer Decision-Making
– Area 4: Evaluating the Impact of Public Policies and Firms’ Decisions
– Area 5: New Challenges for New Data

Each applicant has to full in a form with all his past and forthcoming publications.
Each project should contain a one-page summary of the project as well as the list of potential co authors or partners. A provisional budget should also be submitted. Please note that the budget has to be distributed according to the following topics:
• Travel expenses
• Services (e.g. conference room rental, translation services)
• Personnel (internship only for GENES)
• Others expenses (e.g. purchase of goods, small equipment, data)
• Equipment (> €4000)

Accepted projects will be awarded a grant of up to €4 000 or €5 000 by researcher per year for two years.

Colleagues who received an individual project last year or a seminar (December 2020) for a two-year period cannot re-apply this year.
“The members of a collaborative project that has been selected on December 2020 (cf Call for Collaborative Projects 2021-22 – labex ECODEC) cannot apply for this call for individual projects.”
“The members of a structuring project (cf Call of Structuring Projects 2022-24 – labex ECODEC) can apply for this individual call for projects.”

In exchange, the authors accept that their research outcomes will be available on the LabEx website. They also commit to acknowledge the LabEx ECODEC as one of their sources of funding when circulating their working paper and upon publication with the quote: this research is supported by a grant of the French National Research Agency (ANR), “Investissements d’Avenir” (LabEx Ecodec/ANR-11-LABX-0047).

The submission platform will be open from 25Th October 2021.
Project applications must be submitted before 21Th November 2021 (midnight).

Projects will go through the following process:

– Final selection by the steering committee on December, 2021.
– Notification of approval to projects applicants on December, 2021.
– Credits will be available from January, 2022.

Call for “Structuring Projects” 2022-24 – Labex ECODEC

Members of the LabEx ECODEC are invited to submit applications for “structuring projects” in one of the following subjects:
– Area 1: Secure Careers in a Global Economy
– Area 2: Financial Market Failures and Regulation
– Area 3: Product Market Regulation and Consumer Decision-Making
– Area 4: Evaluating the Impact of Public Policies and Firms’ Decisions
– Area 5: New Challenges for New Data

The aim of these research projects is to
– promote promising and ambitious medium-term research projects
– stimulate coordination among the researchers of the three LabEx partners
– create new or finance existing research infrastructures

The desired, but not compulsory, features and actions of such research projects are the following:
– Projects should include several Ecodec researchers.
– We encourage teams including researchers from HEC Paris and/or Ecole Polytechnique and/or GENES. Teams belonging to the same institution may however be considered.
– The coherence of the project (willingness to work as a group, scientific consistency, etc)
– Projects may include a training dimension (e.g. regular reading groups, inclusion of interns and PhD students, specific courses, etc).
– Teams leaders need to ensure that their projects are visible on various media (websites, social media, etc).
– Organizing events (e.g. conferences, workshops).
– Producing research and visible outputs for the general public is strongly encouraged.

Each application should contain (1) the names of all applicants and their respective role in the project, (2) a two-page summary of the project, as well as (3) a budget broken down according to the following topics:

• Other expenses (e.g. purchase of goods, small equipment, data)
• Equipment (> €4000) : data centers, computers

Amount requested:
Each accepted project will be awarded a grant of up to €50 000 per team per year for 3 years.

Application deadline:
Project applications must be submitted before 15 October 2021 (midnight).

Projects will go through the following process:

– Notification of approval to projects applicants on December 2021.
– Credits will be available in January 2022.
